What is a logbook service?
Logbook servicing follows the dealer’s recommended servicing interval which suggests which areas of your vehicle require inspection and what work needs to be carried out. This can range from a simple air filter replacement to a full timing belt replacement.
Does the car dealer have to perform the logbook service?
No! In fact, Logbook servicing can be carried out by a qualified mechanic and you will still retain your new car warranty. This fact is supported by the ACCC. You can read about this here:
